The only thing I love more than vintage is Miu Miu. Because Miu Miu is vintage. It has its modern moments – SS13 was all about denim and new lengths – but mostly it’s richly and unapologetically influenced by the yonder years. Remember the cropped, 60s, printed pant suits last fall? And the gothic-inspired caplets from SS12? I can go on really but my point is: It’s so me, I don’t see the difference. And consider this: If you wore a Miu Miu piece from the very first collection now – it was established in 1993 – it would in fact BE vintage! Pretty soon the brand – and others too, if they haven’t already – can start referencing itself. It has come full circle. And that’s why I can’t do anything but love it.
