A near disaster happened a month ago when I missed an e-mail from French Vogue to shoot my closet. I had never accessed my Tales of Endearment e-mail account until then – I was under the wrong impression that all the e-mails were getting forwarded to my main address – so when I finally opened the inbox I saw months worth of requests, offers, comments, questions and messages. I panicked. Did I let anyone down? Did I miss any opportunities? Was my non-response being taken as rude? I raced against the clock to answer all the e-mails I regretfully missed and apologize.

French Vogue recruited Julia Chesky as their local photographer and we set a new date to shoot. Coincidently Julia had been in contact with me back in 2008 when I posted an ad for an intern on fashionista.com. It didn’t work out then but I was happy to hear she scored this fabulous gig. And though it was her first shoot with them – she was extremely nervous – I love how she captured my personal style and intimate tidbits at my apartment. And I wore some vintage of course.
