Operation BryanBoy

On the road to self-discovery one might find one is not entirely devoted to one’s gender-specific roles and customary antics. As a woman for example I often wear the pants in the house; I use hammers and drills to fix things; and I have used the sentence: “It’s not you, it’s me” more than once after the third, telling date. I’ve also noticed I have nothing but men’s sweaters in my wardrobe, often in size M or L, and a consistent penchant to want to dress like a boy, in flats and a coat (only in winter though).

On that same road, one might stumble upon like-minded people, who, just like oneself, do not fear the other side. Like BryanBoy. His annual Halloween interpretation of Anna Wintour is dead-on; he hires men to hang his curtains; and his closet houses more women’s pants, blouses and sweaters than any gay man would ever like to admit. But his cross-over style is iconic, colorful and so up my street. If I were his size, I’d raid his closet every day.

So: why not? Dress up like BryanBoy? Turns out, all I needed was one safety pin and my new pair of Prada’s to make the switch to Boyhood. And Bryan was more than happy to dig into my closet and explore Joos Nation. It’s trading places, with a serious gender issue….

What a genious idea! Love how much you make fashion fun but nevertheless taking it seriously. And I especially love the blue-and-white-and-stripe-and-checkered-combination! Keep on having fun you two.
