Michelle Harper’s brother and sister-in-law own a beautiful farm and land near Cornwall in Vermont. It’s a green paradise with every farm animal imaginable: long haired Highlander cows, chickens, goats, horses, sheep, dogs, cats and probably some I did not even encounter between the two houses on the large estate. Michelle, my sister Evelien, her colleague Natalie Hazzout, my videographer David Merten and I drove up to Vermont a few weekends ago to explore the local vintage in Middleboro, swim at Lake Champlain and cruise the entire farm. Tata Harper let me roam the houses with my camera and showed me her collection of vintage jewelry. The boys fired up the grill and played paintball – no women allowed. It was a gorgeous weekend with lots of Ah’s! and Oh’s! and a welcome relief from the city. Bliss.
