I’ve had this vintage cotton dress for a few years but probably only wore it once or twice before. I don’t even remember where I bought it. Obviously I got it because of the funny paisley rooster motif on the skirt. But the length must have never appealed to me – much longer than I was used to. Now it’s pretty much all I wear – with age and maturity my hemlines have dropped. As much as I love being a girl, it’s nice to be a woman.
I remember waiting in line for a couple of hours to buy these Manolo Blahnik raspberry mules. Sample sales in New York are quite the adventure, and mostly not the pleasant kind. But then you find Manolos for $100 a pair and everything is OK again. I left with two pairs and smile on my face.
The 1950’s-inspired Tom Ford ‘Anouk’ sunglasses were an instant classic. They were sold out within weeks of being dropped. I got the last pair of black ones at Bergdorf Goodman. I love the shape and the quality – they are very sturdy.
The vintage suede pink bag is from Speakeasy Vintage in Montclair, New Jersey. I was on a Mini Cooper road trip with my friends Anouck Lepere and Julia Roitfeld. We had a whole film crew with us that day. I will be posting the video and photos next week!
Happy 4th of July!
