I’m not going to lie… I enjoyed my week off. There’s nothing worse than looking for wifi networks when you should be digging your feet in the sand on the beach or twirling on the dance floor at the local discoteque… I am recharged, tan, happy and back in New York, where the internet is working perfectly and my desk the regular clutter. More over I am packed with a boat load of memories, photos and souvenirs from my 10-day vacation in South America!

I spent most of my time in Punta del Este, a sunny beach resort in the South of Uruguay, but took a 2-day trip to Buenos Aires in Argentina for my birthday on the 29th of December. I stayed at a boutique hotel in the center of Palermo, the Soho of Buenos Aires and drove around the entire city – which is HUGE and GORGEOUS – with my crew. My Look of the Week was shot in a lively, colorful neighborhood called La Boca. It reminded me of the French Quarter in New Orleans, doused in Latin influences, with busy outdoor restaurants, wrangling merchants, facades in bright, intense colors and tango dancers tapping away on hardwood podiums.

My look is a combination of things I got in Buenos Aires, except the elephant print silk tank from Joie in New York. I love the vintage skirt with John Deere tractors print (!!!) and bright red Norwegian sweater from Tremendo, a vintage retail and rental place situated on the 5th floor of a residential building in Belgrano. The bikini is a birthday gift from Male Palandjoglou, the Greece-born designer behind a girlie-casual Buenos Aires brand called Kukla. And the white brogues are a birthday gift from Josefina, one of the designers at A.Y. Not Dead, a popular, funky family brand I consider the Alexander Wang of Buenos Aires. A.Y. Not Dead is currently available at Opening Ceremony as part of their ‘USA vs Argentina’ collaboration. The straw vintage bag is my own and the aviators are Oliver Peoples.
