Relax. I’m not asking you to dissect your character. Or do I? Because if you are the type of woman that wears the designs of Carlos Polite, one might assume a lot… Maybe you remember the post I did last year in Miami when his new collection “made my panties drop”. He’s bold and a little out there. His constructions, prints and shapes are probably too elaborate for the average customer. But that’s alright, because it’s a two-way street. Polite doesn’t picture his clothes on everyone. He has a certain woman in mind when he draws. And four of them are portrayed in these videos for Vogue Mexico.
Since that famed SS15 collection, Carlos has made strides to capture the US market. He did his first presentation during NYFW in September, got a showroom to help him, and recently joined the 151 Luwolt tribe, a fashion incubator with an online e-commerce platform that allows designers to sell stock that’s already available without having to produce more. The incubator helps these emerging designers to build a sustainable business by receiving mentorship and guidance on an array of issues that arise in the start up phase. The goal is to guide and build longevity in the industry. I think you’ll find this interesting!
