I’m making a few godless mistakes here. First, the Norwegian flag is not to be draped around people’s bodies. It’s supposed to soar proudly on the pole in your back yard on Sundays, holidays and special occasions. They’re like, deadly strict about that here. Secondly, Mathilie and I are not wearing the traditional white shirt with our “Bunad“. Apparently they take an hour to iron, so apologies for our impatience and blasphemy. But what I am undeniably right about is that the “Bunad” dresses women wear on the National Holiday (May 17th) are magnificent. It’s a costly affair and they are heritage pieces but the attention to detail and quality are rare. Oh and one more mistake: I said I wouldn’t be posting anything on my vacation, but as you can see I am still, though partially, horizontal.
