Look of the Week: The Marni Tourist

Maybe tourists don’t run around the city wearing Marni and 10-inch platforms, but that didn’t stop me from cavorting with some fine specimens at the Hudson River Park last Wednesday. The glorious sun brought all kinds of out-of-towners to the pier: a couple from San Francisco, equipped to the teeth with binoculars, maps, cameras and sun hats waiting to board the Water Taxi, topless men in spandex running shorts and shaved legs prancing up and down the boardwalk, unworldly families of eight staring in disbelief at my shoes as if I were a side show attraction and my new boyfriend (not really), an English boy on a checkered blanket, reading a book. Sigh. Just goes to show, New York never bores, least of all a New Yorker.

Top and skirt by Marni; Shoes by Suno + Loeffler Randall; vintage pink cashmere V-neck sweater; Pink “Harvest” sunglasses by Karen Walker; vintage plastic wire handbag (from Ellen on Ludlow Street). Manicure by Wah Nails who were in town from London handing out free manis to celebrate the launch of their book. More about them on IntoTheGloss this week!
